Vivian Frieson begins her first year on the Gonzaga women’s basketball staff as an administrative assistant in 2013-14. Frieson is no stranger on the Bulldogs program having been a four-year standout player from 2007-10.

Frieson was selected as the 31st pick in the 2010 WNBA Draft by the Tulsa Shock, becoming the first Zag in women’s basketball history to be drafted by the WNBA.

In GU’s 2010 Sweet Sixteen NCAA Tournament run, Frieson averaged 16.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 3.0 blocks and 2.0 steals per contest. Arguably her biggest shot of her career came with 18 seconds left in the Zags NCAA Tournament second round game versus Texas A&M that catapulted them to the 72-71 win and to their inaugural Sweet Sixteen appearance.

In her four seasons in a Bulldog uniform, Frieson averaged 8.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.0 block per contest.

She was let go by the Tulsa Shock during training camp and played for Kvarnby Basketball located in Mölndal, Sweden during the 2010-11 season. She also played professionally for the Townsville Fire in Australia.
