Gonzaga Athletics rang in 2008 with a bang, demolishing both the soccer field and tennis courts. While Phase I of the new soccer field is nearing completion, a tennis facility is in the works.
It is an exciting time as we look toward a bright future of top-notch facilities where GUs nationally-competitive student-athletes can perform at the highest level.
As construction on soccer has continued, the tennis teams have moved their home matches to the Spokane Racquet Club. With a need also present for GU's golf teams, ALSC of Spokane drew up a facility plan which will house both programs. Ultimately, six Gonzaga teams will benefit from the building of new soccer fields as well as the indoor golf and tennis facility.
The indoor golf and tennis facility will include a golf practice area along with six tennis courts. It will also feature men's and women's locker rooms. We are excited to provide this new, state-of-the-art facility as the future home of Gonzaga golf and tennis. It will provide our student-athletes with the opportunity to fine-tune their games, making them sharper on the court and the course.
