Men's Soccer Returns To Corvallis For Hensor/Zaher Classic
SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University's men's soccer team returns to Corvallis, Ore., and the Oregon State University campus this weekend for the Hensor/Zaher Soccer Classic.
The Bulldogs will face UC Irvine Friday at 2 p.m. then face the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in a unique 9 a.m. match Sunday. The host Beavers face UW-Green Bay Friday at 5 p.m. and UC Irvine Sunday at noon.
This weekend will be the sixth Hensor/Zaher Soccer Classic Gonzaga University has participated in, and the 11th overall tournament Gonzaga has been a part of hosted by Oregon State University. The Bulldogs went 0-1-1 last season in the event, falling to Cal State Bakersfield 4-1 in the opener and battling to a 0-0 double-overtime deadlock against UMKC. The Zags went 2-0-0 in back-to-back tournaments in 2006-07 to claim the Hensor/Zaher Soccer Classic title. The Zags are 11-9 all-time in Corvallis in tournament play.
