SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University's men's soccer team opens West Coast Conference play Wednesday at Pacific Northwest rival University of Portland at 7 p.m.

The Bulldogs make their WCC home debut Sunday at 2 p.m. against the University of San Francisco.

Gonzaga has put together a pair of two-match win streaks in starting the season 4-3, but the Bulldogs will be looking for their first three-match winning streak since 2009 on Wednesday.          Gonzaga defeated UC Irvine 2-1 and the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay 3-2 in double-overtime at the Hensor/Zaher Nike Soccer Classic at Oregon State University for its latest two-match streak. The last time the Bulldogs won three straight was 2009 when they defeated Georgia Southern University 3-0 and the University of Detroit Mercy 4-0 in the Gonzaga Nike Soccer Classic. The following weekend the Zags topped Binghamton University 2-1 in the first round of the Nike/TLC Plumbing and Utilities Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. The streak ended when Gonzaga lost to host University of New Mexico 3-0.

The Pilots are 2-4-1 overall, riding a three-match losing streak and are winless in their last four outings entering West Coast Conference play. Portland lost both matches of the Husky Classic last weekend, falling at Seattle University 4-3 in the opening match and to No. 21 Brown University in Sunday's match at Husky Soccer Field.
