SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Gonzaga University senior Emma Dolcetti has been named to the 2012 Women's Soccer West Coast Conference All-Academic Team.

Senior Morgan Manchester, junior Emily Eckmann, sophomore Tori Lee and sophomore Katey Pennington all earned honorable mention accolades.

Dolcetti, who earned WCC All-Academic honorable mention honors as a junior, carries a 3.37 GPA in psychology. As a forward on the Zags squad, she is currently tied for third in points with seven having scored three goals and notched one assist. For her career, she has tallied 11 goals which ties her for 10th in the Gonzaga career record book.

This is Manchester's second-straight season being named WCC All-Academic honorable mention. The defender carries a 3.61 GPA in biology. She has helped Gonzaga secure four shutouts this year, along with tallying three assists and one goal. Her goal, which also was the first of her career, came with 26 seconds left in regulation against Saint Mary's and tied the match to send it in to overtime.

Eckmann, a versatile player that has played both midfield and defender for Gonzaga this season, holds a 3.72 GPA in human physiology. Like Manchester, Eckmann has helped the Bulldogs capture four shutouts this season with her stifling defense. She also has notched two assists. Eckmann was named to the WCC All-Academic team a season ago.

Lee, a midfielder, carries a 3.86 GPA and has yet to declare a major. She has started all 18 matches for the Bulldogs and has recorded a team-high five assists, including four that came on game-winning goals.

Pennington, a defender, carries a 3.70 GPA in nursing. She also has started all 18 matches this season and helped GU secure four shutouts. Pennington has been credited with two assists this season.

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport.  To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.
