Bulldogs Visit Big 12 Foe Oklahoma State New Year's Eve
SPOKANE, Wash. - No, Gonzaga University isn't joining the Big 12 Conference, although Monday's meeting with Oklahoma State University will be the fifth and final regular-season game against a Big 12 opponent for the Bulldogs this season.
Gonzaga comes into the contest 4-0 against Big 12 foes with home wins over West Virginia University (84-50) and last Friday against Baylor University (94-87), and neutral-court victories over the University of Oklahoma (72-47 at the Old Spice Classic) and Kansas State University (68-52 in The Battle in Seattle). The Bulldogs have outscored their Big 12 opponents 318-236 (79.5 ppg to 59.0 ppg).
Gonzaga is undefeated in four previous meetings with Oklahoma State University, the last meeting two years to the day when the Zags took a 73-52 New Year's Eve home victory in 2010. Gonzaga also defeated the Cowboys 83-71 Nov. 27, 2008, in the opening round of the Old Spice Classic in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.; took a 64-62 victory in The Battle in Seattle Dec. 12, 2005, on Adam Morrison's bank trey in the waning seconds, and defeated OSU Dec. 28, 2004, 78-75 in the All-College Classic in Oklahoma City, Okla., as the No. 12 Zags upset the No. 3 Cowboys.
