SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University can take a giant step toward regaining the West Coast Conference regular-season crown Thursday at 8 p.m. when the Bulldogs visit Saint Mary's College, the team which snapped GU's streak at 11 straight last season.

The Zags are 10-0 in the WCC while SMC comes in with a 10-1 mark and winners of nine straight since falling at Gonzaga 83-78.

Gonzaga holds a 55-27 lead in the series with Saint Mary's College. The Bulldogs won 28-of-31 meetings from 1999-10, including 17 straight from 1999-04. The teams have played 13 times since 2009 with Gonzaga going 9-4 in that stretch.

The teams have met in the championship game of the West Coast Conference Tournament each of the past four seasons - Gonzaga winning in 2009 and '11, the Gaels getting the victory in 2010 and '12.
