Bulldogs Close Out Fall At Head of the Snake Saturday
SPOKANE, Wash. –
HEAD OF THE SNAKE ON TAP: The Gonzaga University men’s rowing program closes out its fall season Saturday at the Head of the Snake, hosted by Washington State University. Racing begins at Noon at the WSU Boathouse on Snake River at Wawawai Landing.
ABOUT THE HEAD OF THE SNAKE: The Head of the Snake is in its 11th year. The race, hosted by Washington State University, features a 5,000-meter stretch of the Snake River. Boats will start in intervals, racing both the clock and each other.

HEAD COACH DAN GEHN’S THOUGHTS ON THE UPCOMING HEAD OF THE SNAKE: “Racing on the snake is always an adventure, especially in November. You can expect cold, wind, snow and that is exactly what is forecasted. We mixed our boats a bit more since the Head of the Lake and we are ready to race.”
WHAT HAPPENED LAST YEAR AT THE HEAD OF THE SNAKE?: Gonzaga University men’s rowing won three of five races at the 2012 Head of the Snake. After defeating Washington State University the week prior to the 2012 Head of the Snake, the Bulldogs dropped the marquee Varsity 8+ race to the Cougars. Gonzaga was victorious in the Second Varsity 8+ race, Novice 8+ race, and the Varsity 4+ race.
