SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Gonzaga University sophomore forward Nate Pacheco is the West Coast Conference men's soccer Player of the Week.

Pacheco helped the Bulldogs to two wins last weekend at the Hensor/Zaher Nike Soccer Classic hosted by Oregon State University.

The native of Albuquerque, NM, who missed two matches with an early-season ankle sprain, came back in style. His first goal of the season Friday proved to be the match-winner in a 2-1 victory over UC Irvine, and he scored the first goal for the Bulldogs Sunday in a 3-2 double-overtime victory over the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. For his efforts, Pacheco was named to the Hensor/Zaher All-Tournament team as the Bulldogs finished second behind host Oregon State University, the Beavers claiming the title on goal differential.

Gonzaga opens West Coast Conference play Wednesday at the University of Portland, then returns home for the first time since Sept. 2 when the University of San Francisco visits Gonzaga Soccer Field at 2 p.m. in the WCC home opener. Sunday's match will be the nightcap of a double-header, the Gonzaga women facing the University of Nevada at 11 a.m.
