SPOKANE, Wash. - Basketball fans will have their first opportunity to see the 2012-13 Gonzaga University women's basketball team Saturday, Oct. 13 as the Zags host FAN FEST at the McCarthey Athletic Center.  FAN FEST is open and free to the public. Doors will open at 1 p.m., with the event starting at 2 p.m.

The third-annual FAN FEST will once again be very interactive for fans. Fans will have the opportunity to meet and interact with the players both before the event and get autographs from the team after the event.

The main event will feature the 2012-13 Bulldogs players scrimmaging each other. There also will be appearances by Spike, the Gonzaga Cheerleaders, the GU Dance Team and Bomb Squad.

Schedule cards, posters and magnets will also be given away.

New to this year's FAN FEST is the opportunity for women's basketball season ticket holders to pick up their season ticket packets and their official 2012-13 women's basketball t-shirt. Season ticket holders can pick up these items once the doors open at 1 p.m. through the end of FAN FEST.

Gonzaga is coming off another spectacular season. The Bulldogs made their fourth-straight trip, and fifth in six years, to the NCAA Tournament and reached the Sweet Sixteen for the third consecutive year. The Zags were also ranked 14th in the NCAA Division I in attendance a season ago with an average of 5,443 fans per game, which included five sellouts.

The Bulldogs return nine letterwinners, along with two returning redshirts and four newcomers. Highlighting the squad is the 2012 West Coast Conference Newcomer of the Year Haiden Palmer, along with Taelor Karr and Jazmine Redmon. Karr led the nation in assists-to-turnovers a season ago, while Redmon was seventh in the nation in the same category.

Women's basketball season tickets are currently on sale starting at $85. Season tickets can be purchased at or by calling the Gonzaga Ticket Office at 509-313-6000.
