High School: Attended Lahainaluna High in Lahaina, Hawaii...was a four-year varsity letterwinner...named a PARADE Magazine All-American in 2011...is Gonzaga's second-ever PARADE All-American... is the first Maui Interscholastic League (MIL) athlete in any sport to be named a PARADE All-American...averaged 17.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 3.0 steals per game in her senior season when the Lunas broke the MIL all-sports winning streak record and moved it to 59-straight - Viela played in 55 of those wins...is a two-time Gatorade State Player of the Year (2010, 2011) and was State Player of the Year in 2010 for the Honolulu Advertiser and Star-Bulletin, an award for which she finished second this year in Honolulu Star-Advertiser...also was a semifinalist for the McDonald's All-America Game, and has been an MIL All-Star four times, twice as Division I Player of the Year...as a junior was named All-MIL first team, first team All-State by the Maui News and led the team to the H.H.S.A.A. state championship...in the semi-finals versus Punahou, Viela scored 29 points, including 17 from the free throw line...was a first-team All-MIL selection as a sophomore and second team as a freshman.

FRESHMAN (2011-12): Game-by-game statistics...saw action in 11 games for the Bulldogs...finished the season scoring 20 points, grabbing six rebounds, dishing out five assists and blocking two shots...first collegiate points came in Zags opening game win over Hofstra, No. 11; scoring two points in four minutes of play...tallied a career-high five points in the Bulldogs win over Saint Francis (Pa.), Jan. 1 as she was 2-of-3 from the floor, including 1-1 from beyond the 3-point arc...also dished out two assists against the Red Flash...scored four points in eight minutes of action, and added a block, in a win over the University of San Francisco, Jan. 12...also had four points against the University of Portland, Feb. 2.

SOPHOMORE (2012-13): Game-by-game statistics...saw action in 19 games for the Bulldogs…scored 23 points, dished out 16 assists, grabbed 11 rebounds and made six steals...scored a career-high seven points in GU’s win over Monmouth University, Nov. 18…also had three assists against the Hawks…passed out a career-high five assists in win over the University of Idaho, Dec. 20…sank two 3-pointers for six points in a victory at the University of Portland, Jan. 14…had a career-tying high three rebounds against the University of San Francisco, Feb. 16.

JUNIOR (2013-14): Saw action in 21 games for the Bulldogs…scored 39 points, dished out 14 assists, grabbed eight rebounds and made eight steals…tied a career-high with seven points in win over Fairfield, Dec. 2…passed out a season-high four assists in win at Pacific, Dec. 30…also scored four points and had a steal against the Tigers…finished with five points and two boards against Portland, Feb. 22.

Misc.: 3.29 high school GPA...Uncle Brian Ching was a standout soccer player at Gonzaga and has had a decorated professional career; currently a member of the Houston Dynamo, was named the 2006 MLS Cup MVP and was a member of the US National Team...parents are Laurie and Chad Viela...has a brother named Ikaika and two sisters; Malika and Tavi.
