Gonzaga Reaches Season Ticket Commitment On New Arena
Jan. 27, 2004
SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University athletic director Mike Roth announced Tuesday the university has reached its commitment level on season tickets for the new Gonzaga basketball arena which will open for the 2004-05 basketball season. Roth said interested Gonzaga fans will be placed on a waiting list for season tickets with those fans being contacted should tickets become available in the near future.
Gonzaga has been selling season ticket packages for its new basketball arena for more than 15 months with steady ticket selling activity throughout the process. The new arena will seat more than 6,000 fans, with all fans sitting in individual chair back seats.
"We are very excited that the people of Spokane and Gonzaga basketball fans have embraced this new basketball arena," Roth stated. "Our staff has been working for the past 15 months to sell all the season tickets and today that goal became a reality. We will continue to sign fans up on a waiting list for season tickets and we are excited about opening the building to sell out crowds. We have built a very special atmosphere in The Kennel and we expect that same atmosphere to continue in the new building."
Fans will be able to place their names on the Gonzaga season ticket waiting list starting Wednesday, Jan. 28, by calling the athletic department at (509)323-4202 or on-line at GonzagaArena.com
Gonzaga has played basketball in the current Kennel for 39 years and will play its final basketball game in the building on Feb. 28 against West Coast Conference rival Santa Clara University.
