March 5, 2002
SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University athletic department has announced plans for an NCAA Selection Show Party for this Sunday, March 10, at the West Coast Grand Hotel. Fans are welcome to join the four-time West Coast Conference Tournament champion Gonzaga Bulldogs as they learn where they will be playing in this year's NCAA Tournament. Doors will open to the general public at 2 p.m. with the selection show airing on CBS (KREM-2 TV) at 3 p.m.
Gonzaga is currently ranked No. 6 in the country with a 29-3 overall record. The Bulldogs are one of only three teams to make the NCAA Tournament Round of 16 each of the past three seasons. Defending NCAA champion Duke University and 2000 NCAA champion Michigan State University are the other two programs to venture that deep into each of the last three tournaments.
