Mark Livingston Named Gonzaga IMG General Manager
SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane native Mark Livingston, a graduate of Ferris High who received his master's degree in athletic administration from Gonzaga University in 2004, is the new General Manager of IMG College, the Bulldogs multi-media rights holder and corporate partner.
He replaces Kris Kassel who assumed the position of Associate Athletic Director for External Operations for the Bulldogs after coming to Gonzaga in 2007 as the inaugural Gonzaga GM of IMG College.
Livingston joins IMG after nine years at Sacramento State University. He started with the Hornets in 2003 as the Associate Athletic Director for Marketing and in 2007 was named the Associate Athletic Director for Development and Executive Director of the Hornet Club.
Prior to going to Sacramento State he served two years as the Director of Marketing and Corporate Sales at the University of Hawai'i, and also served as Executive Director of the 2000 Humanitarian Bowl in Boise, Idaho.
Livingston is a 1993 graduate of Northwest Nazarene University with a degree in speech communication. His wife, the former Aimee Turner, is a graduate of Spokane's Central Valley High and graduated from nearby Eastern Washington University. They are the parents of a son, Turner, and a daughter, Jade. Livingston's sister-in-law, Holly Turner Haneke, played women's basketball for the Bulldogs from 1998-2000.
"My family and I are excited about returning to Spokane and being a part of the IMG College and Gonzaga University families," Livingston said. "This is a professional opportunity I couldn't say no to, and personally we are also looking forward to being closer to our families."
Peter Pilling, Associate Regional Vice President, West Region for IMG College properties, is also looking forward to having Livingston lead the Gonzaga operation.
"We truly appreciate Kris Kassel's years of service with IMG College and we wish him the best with his new opportunity within Gonzaga athletics. We are confident Mark will continue to grow and enhance our partnerships with the business community."
Gonzaga athletic director Mike Roth is also looking forward to having Livingston at Gonzaga.
"Mark did an outstanding job for us as a graduate student, and he has gained a wealth of experience in the professional endeavors he has undertaken in the years since. We know he will bring that knowledge with him as we continue to move forward in our partnership with IMG College."
Livingston begins his duties June 11.
