Sarah Reijonen Named Communication Specialist

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University Associate Athletic Director/ Athletic Development Director Dennis Kalina announced the promotion of Sarah Reijonen to Communications Specialist. Reijonen has served as the program assistant for the Athletic Development Office the past year before being promoted into her new role.
"Since joining the department last year, Sarah has instituted new and enhanced means for reaching out to our benefactors and sports alums," said Kalina. "With her new position she is going to be able to take this foundation of work and continue to improve and increase the communication to the Zag donors.
"Sarah has an excellent skill set and vibrant personality. Those qualities have been a true asset to the Athletic Department."
Prior to Gonzaga, Reijonen worked as a writer for multiple newspapers. She was a sports writer for The Clovis Independent where she covered high school sports and also worked for Washington State University's student publication, The Daily Evergreen as an editor, staff writer and columnist for three years.
Reijonen, a native of Spanaway, Wash., graduated Magna Cum Laude from Washington State University with a bachelor's degree in communication in 2006.
