Hill Hired As Director Of Marketing

July 1, 2003

SPOKANE, Wash - Aaron Hill, a 2001 graduate of Gonzaga University, has been named to the newly created position of Director of Marketing and Promotions for the Bulldog intercollegiate athletic department, Gonzaga director of athletics Mike Roth announced today.

"We are excited about what Aaron brings to our program to lay the foundation for this position," Roth said. "Aaron knows the university, knows Gonzaga athletics and knows the Spokane community. He will play an integral role in the future of this program, especially with the completion of the new Gonzaga Arena slated to open in the fall of 2004."

Hill graduated from nearby Freeman High, then enrolled at Gonzaga where he received his bachelor's degree in business administration. As an undergrad he served as the men's basketball manager and was also a student assistant/associate camp director for the Bulldog men's basketball camps.

Upon graduation Hill remained at Gonzaga and earned his master's in business administration in May of this year. He served as a graduate assistant baseball coach for one season while earning his MBA.

Most recently Hill has worked as a group sales coordinator of the Spokane Indians Baseball Club.

In his position at Gonzaga he will oversee all marketing and promotions activities for the department, including advertising sales, group sales and game-day promotions for all 14 of Gonzaga's sports.

"With the completion of the new arena this position became critical to our future for all of our programs," Roth said. "We want fans in the stands at all of our events, but we needed someone who could concentrate solely on such a task to market and promote Gonzaga athletics. We believe Aaron is the person for that job. He wants to be a Zag."

Hill will assume his new duties July 7.
