Gonzaga Fall Sports Teams Return To Campus

SPOKANE, Wash. -  Two of Gonzaga University's five fall sports teams reported to campus this morning for preseason camps while the other three sports teams will report on Monday, Aug. 16.  Gonzaga's volleyball and women's soccer teams returned to the Spokane campus on Wednesday morning as they prepare to open their seasons at the end of the month.  Men's soccer and cross country will report on Monday to begin preseason workouts.


Women's soccer will be the first Gonzaga sport to hit the playing field as the Bulldogs open the season on Aug. 27 at the University of Wyoming.  The home opener for women's soccer will be Sept. 3 against Utah State University.


Men's soccer and volleyball will both open their seasons at home with a doubleheader on Sept. 1.  The men's soccer team will host the University of Washington at 4 p.m. on Martin Field followed by the volleyball match against Montana State University at 7 p.m. in Martin Centre.


Men's and women's cross country will start competition on Friday, Sept. 3, when both teams travel to Moscow, Ida., to compete in the Idaho Invitational.  The Zags compete in their first Spokane-area event on Sept. 11 when they race at Spokane Falls Community College.
