Gonzaga Athletics Announces Staff Promotions

Aug. 31, 2015 SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga Director of Athletics Mike Roth announced a series of staff promotions within the Athletic Department on Wednesday.

“We have a simple goal within our department to work hard to be better each and every day,” Roth said. “These individuals continue to perform at an extraordinary level and should be commended. We now look forward to embracing the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.”

Among the senior staff, Chris Standiford has been named Deputy Athletic Director, while Shannon Strahl was named Senior Associate A.D. for Compliance and added duties as the Senior Woman Administrator. Steve Hertz became Senior Associate A.D. for Major Gifts and Jared Hertz became Associate A.D. for Athletic Advancement.

In Student Athlete Support Services, Mike Roden was named Associate A.D., and in Business Operations, Kim Vore was named Assistant A.D.

In Sports Medicine, Jennifer Nyland took over responsibilities as the Director of Sports Medicine.

In External Operations, the marketing department saw a pair of promotions with Lindsey Lessing being named Director of Marketing and Meghan McNeil being named Assistant Director of Marketing. Clement Lye was named Director of Video Services.

Gonzaga Athletics continues to focus on national ascendance across all 18 sports and become a standard bearer for excellence achieved in the Jesuit tradition. In addition to achievements in competition, Gonzaga student-athletes also combined for a 3.31 departmental GPA and completed more 2,800 hours of community service in 2014-15.
