Gonzaga women's rowers during Wednesday's Row-A-Thon.

Gonzaga University men's and women's rowers combined for more than 1 million meters on Wednesday as the Bulldogs held their annual Row-A-Thon in the Martin Centre. Members of both the men's and women's teams rowed during the 12-hour period which started 6 a.m. in the morning. During the day the men's and women's teams were joined by several celebrity guest rowers from the Bulldogs athletic staff and supporters of the program. The annual event is a fund raiser for the men's and women's teams and helps in the purchase of new boats and equipment for the rowers.

Gonzaga prepares to open the fall racing season next weekend as the Bulldogs host a dual regatta with Washington State on the Spokane River at the Gonzaga Boathouse. The meet is a head race with racing starting just west of the Argonne Street bridge and ending at the GU Boathouse. The Bulldogs will also be at home the following weekend (Oct. 25) when they host the Head of the Spokane Regatta.
