Seven Bulldogs WCC Fall All-Academic Picks

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Gonzaga University had seven student-athletes selected to the 2001 West Coast Conference Fall All-Academic teams.
The Bulldogs were represented on all five fall teams, led by a pair of selections in both men's cross country and men's soccer. Senior Mark Bridenstine, who carries a 3.77 GPA in psychology, and sophmore Sam Burch, who has a 3.72 GPA in civil engineering, were the men's cross country honorees. Senior Zach Scott, with a 3.29 GPA in math, and junior Connor Quinn, who carries a 3.72 GPA in biology, represented men's soccer.
Other Bulldogs selected were sophomore Carrie Gibson, women's cross country, 3.83, civil engineering, junior Claire Whitfield, women's soccer, 3.71, biology, and sophomore Natasha Kozen, volleyball, 3.27, business administration.
This past summer in the latest NCAA Graduation Rate Report of student-athletes, the West Coast Conference ranked fifth in overall student-athlete Graduation Rate. The WCC boasts a 69.5 percent student athlete-graduation rate, which is the highest of any Division I conference west of the Mississippi.
