Gonzaga Places Seven On All-WCC Academic Teams

SPOKANE, Wash. -
With the fall semester coming to a close Gonzaga University placed seven student-athletes on the West Coast Conference All-Academic teams. Men's soccer had the highest representation for Gonzaga placing four players from a squad that finished second in the WCC race and narrowly missed the NCAA playoffs. First team All-WCC selections Brian Ching and Jason Kuska were selected along with second team All-WCC pick Justin Franson and senior defender Joe Marks. Women's soccer was represented with one selection as first team All-WCC performer Sara Streufert was named to the All-Academic squad. Rounding out the Gonzaga selections were top men's cross country runner Mark Bridenstine and All-WCC women's cross country runner Tana Caskey.
To qualify for the All-WCC Academic team a student-athlete must have a 3.20 grade point average and be a significant contributor on his/her team.
