Gonzaga University Licensing Look_for_Label

A crafter's license is reserved for individuals wishing to produce handmade Gonzaga products. This license is ideal for fans who are interested in producing small quantities of merchandise for craft fairs, markets, and online marketplaces instead of at retail stores and exists to make licensing agreements more affordable for small crafters. These agreements are a legal necessity when selling products containing university logos and trademarks.

To be eligible for the Crafters program, interested individuals must manufacture items themselves by hand. Commercially manufactured items are not eligible for the program. A list of specific products not allowed in the crafters program include, but are not limited to:

  • Apparel including footwear
  • Cornhole boards/other tailgate games
  • Tumblers/other similar styles of drinkware
  • Consumable items/items used on or in body
  • Potentially other items on a case by case basis

Interested parties should fill out an application and submit photos of the products they intend to sell. After reviewing the application, the University will either approve the applicant or contact the application to correct any problems that are currently preventing approval. Once approved, a contract will be offered detailing the terms of the yearly membership. After completion of the contract, the party will have membership in the Gonzaga University Crafters Program and rights to use the trademarks of Gonzaga University. Approval grants the party rights to use the trademarks of Gonzaga University for a period of one year with adhering to University Logo Guidelines. If all requirements are met, the contract is renewable each year. The yearly cost for a Crafters License is $150.
