Gonzaga University Licensing
Gonzaga University owns the rights to logos, symbols, verbiage, and marks which show trademark of the university. In addition, the University controls the use of those marks, logos, symbols, nicknames, letter(s), word(s) or combination that can be associated with Gonzaga University. Anyone wishing to use a University trademark or one which can be associated with the University must obtain a license. There are four types of licenses all managed by IMG College Licensing (IMGCL).
- Internal Campus Supplier
An Internal Campus Suppliers (ICS) license is needed for companies wishing to produce products only for internal campus departments and groups. With this license, a company is not permitted to sell products at retail. Royalties may be due for sales into this channel.
- Local Licensee
A Local License is for companies headquartered in the state of Washington and be licensed with no more than five in-state universities. Local licensees are allowed to sell product at retail and royalties are assessed on all merchandise sold.
- Standard Licensee
A Standard license is for companies headquartered within the state of Washington that are licensed with six or more in-state universities OR for companies headquartered outside of Washington. Like local licensees, standard licensees are also allowed to sell product at retail, and royalties are assessed on all merchandise sold.
- NCAA/Conference Licensee
These are special licenses that are available to companies that wish to obtain rights to use the trademarks of the NCAA or athletic conferences for use on licensed merchandise, either alone or in conjunction with the University's trademarks. Licensing rights are overseen by the NCAA and Conferences for use of these properties and costs are dependent on the event and extent of the rights and product categories desired by the company.
Companies wishing to apply for any of these licenses should contact IMGCL. An application can be downloaded at www.imgcollegelicensing.com
- College Vault
Marks in this program are historic/retired logos that may be used for vintage inspired merchandise. Participation in the program requires a separate license thru IMGCL.
