Gonzaga Athletics Marketing

The Gonzaga Athletics Marketing office is responsible for the marketing and promotion of Gonzaga's 18 varsity sports. Consisting of two full-time staff members and a number of student interns, the staff is responsible for creating and implementing advertising campaigns, developing marketing plans, community relations initiatives, managaing social media accounts, creating the best game experience for fans, and management of the athletics website.

Members of the athletics marketing staff are responsible for implementing marketing plans, including on-court and on-field promotions, video board programming, public address announcements and music.

Gonzaga Athletics hosts national anthem auditions each fall. Our next auditions will be held in Fall 2017. If you would like to put your  name on the list to be contacted once we have solidified a Fall 2017 audition date, please contact gozags@gonzaga.edu or call 509.313.6818.

Gonzaga has undergraduate interns who assist through the school year with the marketing and promotions of Gonzaga University's 18 varsity sports. Interns are responsible for the implementation of marketing plans, as well as game day operations of men's & women's basketball, volleyball, men's and women's tennis, men's & women's soccer, and baseball. They are required to work a minimum of 2-4 hours per week in the office as well as nights and weekends as sport schedules necessitate. Interns are selected through an application and interview process. The undergraduate internship is a voluntary (unpaid) position; however, students may receive course credit.

Gonzaga has undergraduate mascots who have appearances at all Men's & Women's Soccer, Volleyball, Men's & Women's Basketball, and Baseball home events. In addition, Spike's appearance can be requested at external events where he serves as an ambassador of Gonzaga University in the community. Spike plays an integral role in Gonzaga Athletics, supporting our teams by rallying the crowds, encouraging Bulldog pride, and aiding in on-court and in-game promotions. The mascot position is a voluntary (unpaid) position; however, mascots may receive course credit and the mascots who demonstrate the greatest commitment throughout the year have the opportunity to travel & perform during post-season tournaments.
