Chris Stelzer returns for his sixth season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Gonzaga University cross country and track programs. Stelzer brings a wealth of training knowledge and 18 years of racing experience to the GU program. A native of Wisconsin, Stelzer has competed successfully at every distance from 800 meters to the marathon. He currently focuses his training and racing towards events from 5 miles to the half marathon. As a student-athlete at North Central College in Illinois, Stelzer was part of three NCAA Division III national championship teams. Stelzer earned his bachelor's of science degrees in mathematics and finance from North Central in 1995. He earned a master's of science degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin in 1997. Stelzer currently works as the Director of Electricity Trading for Avista Energy in Spokane. |
