MOSCOW, Idaho - Gonzaga University's men's and women's cross country teams posted some solid performances Friday at the Vandal Twilight Jamboree.

Senior Kara Rasmussen paced the women, finishing 11th over the 4K layout in 15:47.55. Newcomer Emmy Bentley was 15th in 15:54.68, senior Nellie Ballou was 19th in 16:38.08 and Molly Funk was 20th in 16:48.88 in her collegiate debut.

Rhea Richter of host University of Idaho won the race in 15:03.01.

On the men's side, a trio of veterans finished in the top 20. Sophomore Colby Litzenberger was 15th in 21:30.33 over the 4-mile course, senior Gabe Hayden was 16th in 21:32.27 and junior Baraka Poulin was 18th in 21:47.11. Freshman Brett Withers was the top finisher among the Bulldog newcomers in 23rd in 22:10.94.

Daniel Geid, running unattached, won the men's race in 20:53.42.

The next outing for the Bulldogs will be Sept. 16 at the Sundodger Invitational in Seattle.
