Gonzaga University's women had two runners in the top 10 and the Bulldog men placed three in the top 16 at the Cougar Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at the Washington State University Golf Course.
The scoring was done in dual-meet format, the Bulldog men defeating Eastern Washington University and the University of Idaho, tieing the University of Calgary and losing to WSU. The Bulldog women defeated EWU amd lost to WSU, Idaho and Calgary.
Gonzaga's Jamie Schiel placed ninth in 24:48.10 over the 6K course, while teammate Jill Semenza was 10th in 24:49.30. Maria Zambrano of the Cal Spartans Track Club captured the women's race in 22:45.30.
On the men's side, Joe Miller finished eighth for Gonzaga in 27:18.90 over the 8K layout, while Ryan Anderson was 11th in 27:26.00 and Joe Manning 16th in 27:52.90. Danny Wolf of WSU finished first in 25:59.90.
