SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University's cross country team will move its alumni reunion this year to Bloomsday Weekend.

All Bulldog cross country alums are invited to the Bulldog Room in the Martin Centre on Saturday, May 1, for a social and carbo load prior to the 28th annual Lilac Bloomsday Run on Sunday.

The social starts at 5 p.m. with the pasta dinner served at 6 p.m. Gonzaga's annual team awards for the 2003 cross country season will be presented. Tee shirts will also be presented to all who attend.

"We thought Bloomsday weekend would be an opportune time to hold our reunion," head coach Kevin Swaim said. "We figured a lot of alums probably come back for Bloomsday, especially those who are still in the immediate area. The pasta feed on Saturday seemed like the perfect meal since everybody will be carbo loading the night prior to Bloomsday."

Swaim said people can RSVP for dinner by e-mailing him at swaimguxc@msn.com no later than this Friday (April 23).

"We need a count for dinner. If alums don't want to eat they are more than welcome to stop by for the social just to say hello," Swaim said. "We would really like to make this an annual gathering."
