Eric Gunning joined the Gonzaga University Sports Medicine staff as an assistant athletic trainer in the fall of 2007.
The Spokane native and graduate of Central Valley High School joined the Bulldogs from Eastern Washington University, where he spent the previous six years. He graduated from EWU in 1999 with a bachelor's degree in athletic training and received his master's degree in sports administration from the University of Kansas in 2001.
While at KU he was a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the Jayhawks football, women's soccer and baseball teams. He returned to EWU in 2001 as an assistant athletic trainer where he worked with the Eagles volleyball team, shared duties with the women's basketball team and served as the coordinator of athletic training for all of EWU's summer sports camps.
His duties at Gonzaga focus on the men's soccer and baseball teams.
Gunning, married to wife Megan, is also a scuba diving instructor in his spare time.
