2016: Went 0-1 with 7.84 ERA in 20.2 innings and 28 strikeouts as a sophomore...started four games, including first in WCC starts...pitched scoreless inning Feb. 21 at Grand Canyon...fanned all three batters faced Feb. 26 versus Texas Southern...earned first start of year March 9 at Arkansas, going 3.2 innings, allowing six runs, and striking out four...started at Washington March 28, setting career high with four innings pitched and tying career high with five strikeouts...tossed two scoreless innings with four strikeouts April 8 versus Portland...first start in WCC play with 3.0-inning outing and four strikeouts April 24 at Santa Clara...pitched 1.2 scoreless innings at WCC Championships...drafted in the 26th round by the New York Yankees.

2015: Began collegiate career with 0-1 record and 3.38 GPA in 11 appearances, including one start…threw 13.1 innings and allowed eight runs while striking out 17 batters…only Zag pitcher to average more than one strikeout an inning…made GU debut Feb. 15 at CSUN, striking out only batter faced…struck out three batters in scoreless inning Feb. 21 at UC Davis…threw 1-2-3 inning Feb. 28 at #9 Arizona State…earned first career start March 8 at #25 Tulane, striking out five batters and allowing just one run in 2.2 innings…threw 3.0 scoreless innings April 2 versus #25 San Diego, allowing just one hit and striking out three batters…fanned two of three batters faced April 7 at Washington State…pitched shutout inning April 18 at Portland.

East Valley High School: Started all four years at East Valley…earned First Team All-State and League MVP as a senior…threw 64 innings with 0.75 ERA, 0.938 WHIP, and 86 strikeouts…earned First Team All-League from sophomore to senior years…also played football all four years, starting three…earned All-League as a junior and senior…earned Play of the Year award…played basketball for two years for the Knights as well.

Club Experience: Played club ball for the Spokane Dodgers…also earned a spot on the Kansas City Royals Area Code team.

Personal: Parents are Christina and Zach…has one sister named Hannah…majoring in physical education…career goals are to play in Major League Baseball and then become a physical therapist…chose Gonzaga because he liked the low student-to-teacher ratio and because of the baseball program…didn’t start pitching until he was a sophomore in high school.
