HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Crespi Carmelite High playing baseball for coach Scott Muckey... hit .480 as a senior and helped turn a Mission League record 15 double plays during the season... Los Angeles Times first team selection... first team All-Mission League as a senior and junior... honorable mention All-Mission League as a sophomore.
FRESHMAN (1998): Played at L.A. Pierce Junior College. SOPHOMORE (1999): Transferred to Gonzaga... appeared in 51 games as the Zags designated hitter while gaining 14 starts on the mound... hit .300 with 12 home runs and 46 RBI’s in the designated hitter role... compiled a 3-5 record in 78 innings pitched with two complete games... honorable Mention All-WCC. JUNIOR (2000): Only Gonzaga player to start all 53 games last season splitting time between his starting pitching role, designated hitter and outfielder... led team with 17 doubles and 51 RBI’s while ranked second on club with .344 average... set a school record with 26-game hitting streak that ended during the the final game of the season at Lewis-Clark State College, streak ranked among the Top 15 for all of Division I during the 2000 season... ranked in the West Coast Conference Top 10 in runs, doubles and RBI’s... collected 4 or more RBI’s on four occasions with season-high 5 RBI’s against Washington State University in the season opener... had three 4 hit games against Washington State (4/1), University of Portland (4/23) and Loyola Marymount (5/7)compiled a 9-5 record on the mound with a 100.0 innings pitched... led team with 4 complete games during 15 starts on the season... second on squad with 77 strikeouts... won WCC Pitcher of the Week honors (4/3) after performance against Washington State on April 1... ranked in WCC Top 10 in strikeouts, innings pitched, wins and games started... season-high 14 strikeouts against the University of Washington (2/26)... hit .403 in games he started on the mound... first team All-WCC.
