MALIBU, Calif. - Keegan Acker hit two singles to lead the offensive efforts but the Gonzaga University baseball team struggled to score runs as Pepperdine University blanked the Bulldogs 3-0 in game two of the West Coast Conference series Saturday.

Tyler Chism recorded a double while Marco Gonzales and Clayton Eslick each registered singles for the Bulldogs (30-17-1, 13-4 WCC). Billy Moon walked twice but went hitless to end his 11-game hitting streak.

Starter Tyler Chism (6-4) went 5 2/3 innings and although he struck out one, he allowed six hits and issued four free passes. Mark Phillips struck out three and walked one in 2 1/3 hitless frames.

Waves (21-29, 6-11 WCC) starter Jon Moscot (2-1) went the distance, striking out five, walking two and limiting the Bulldogs to five hits.

In the first inning, Chism hit a one-out double to right center and Moon walked but Cameron Edman grounded into Bulldogs fifth double play in the series to end the inning.

The Bulldogs had an opportunity to get on board first in the third inning. Acker opened the inning with a single to center field and reached third base on Steven Halcomb's sacrifice bunt and Eric Lane's ground out but was stranded after Chism struck out to end the inning.

In the home half of the third, the Waves broke through with a leadoff single to left field and after the runner reached third on a one-out sacrifice bunt followed by a wild pitch, Olson loaded the bases on back-to-back walks with two out. The southpaw was punished with a two-run single through the right side. He got out of the inning with a fielder's choice to the second baseman Acker.

The Bulldogs other opportunity started with Moon leading off the fourth with a walk. Two retired batters later Gonzales singled up the middle to move Moon into scoring position but Eslick flied out to right field to end the inning. Moscot would hold the Bulldogs at first base the rest of the game.

The rubber match, also Gonzaga's final road game of the regular-season, begins Sunday at 1 p.m. Gonzales will look to earn his fifth-straight win and become the first pitcher to record 10 wins in the WCC.
