SPOKANE, Wash. - Junior pitcher Brandon Harmon of the Gonzaga University baseball team, has been named the West Coast Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday.

Harmon (5-4) led the Bulldogs to a doubleheader sweep Sunday as the Zags wrapped up a three-game series with the University of Portland. The junior earned the win in the second game of the twinbill when he posted a complete game shutout as Gonzaga downed the Pilots 6-0. The victory gave the Bulldogs the series win, taking two-of-three from Portland.

Harmon, who held Portland hitless through the opening five frames, allowed no runs on just two hits while striking out five during his 9.0 innings of work.

The complete game marked the third of his career, all of which have come in back-to-back-to-back starts. Harmon's first career complete game came on March 25 as he blanked Utah Valley State College before throwing another complete game against then-No. 20 University of San Diego on April 1.

The honor is the second the season for Harmon, as well as the fifth Bulldog WCC accolade this season. Last week, Harmon was named Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his career. On March 26, freshman Jeremy Stumetz was named Pitcher of the Week, while third baseman Darin Holcomb earned Co-Player of the Week recognition. Clayton Mortensen was named WCC Pitcher of the Week on February 12.

The Bulldogs resume play Tuesday, when they travel to take on regional foe Washington State University in Pullman, Wash. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
