SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University sophomore outfielder Jeff Culpepper was selected in the 39th round of the 2003 Major League Baseball draft by the Boston Red Sox. Culpepper, a native of Woodinville, Wash., was a first-team Freshman All-American in 2002 after leading the Bulldogs with a .349 batting average. This season Culpepper was an honorable mention All-West Coast Conference pick after hitting .330 with 13 double and 40 RBI. Culpepper has two years of college eligibility remaining after redshirting at Gonzaga in 2001.
