LOS ANGELES (AP) - Casey Calvary scored 19 points as Gonzaga University defeated Loyola Marymount University 84-64 in a West Coast Conference men's basketball game Saturday night.

The Bulldogs (16-5, 8-0) used a 14-1 run and held the Lions without a field goal for a seven-minute stretch, in which they broke a 27-27 tie and took a 41-28 lead with 18:32 remaining in the game. The Bulldogs maintained a double-digit lead throughout the rest of the game, with the 20-point final margin being the game's largest. The win was the 10th straight for the Bulldogs, one shy of school record set last season in a mid-season run that saw the Bulldogs start the WCC season 9-0.

Combined with Friday's victory over Pepperdine University in a battle of WCC unbeatens, the Bulldogs control their WCC regular-season title destiny. Gonzaga plays it's next four games at home, beginning Friday when the University of San Francisco visits for a 7:30 p.m. contest. Should Gonzaga sweep the next four games in The Kennel, where they are 8-0 this season, the Bulldogs would clinch no worse than a tie for the WCC regular-season title. Following USF, the Bulldogs meet Saint Mary's College in a 2 p.m. Sunday matinee, then host LMU on Feb. 15 and Pepperdine Feb. 17 for the last two home games. Gonzaga concludes the regular season at Santa Clara University and the University of San Diego.

The Bulldogs are vying for the regular-season title and with it the No. 1 seed into the WCC Tournament March 3-5 at USD.

Dan Dickau finished with 16 points and 7 assists for the Bulldogs. Gonzaga shot 65 percent from the field (32 of 49) and made 8 of 17 three-point attempts, while limiting the Lions to 38 percent from the field (23 of 61) and 4 of 15 from long range. The first half featured five ties and two lead changes before the Bulldogs pulled away.

Elton Mashack led LMU (7-14, 3-5) with 13 points and 10 rebounds to record his 14th career double-double, tied with Terrell Lowery for eighth best in school history.

Pablo Machado and Marcus Smith each added 11 points for the Lions.
