Derek Raivio added 17 points to help the Bulldogs (18-4, 8-2) take sole possession of first place in the West Coast Conference, a half-game ahead of idle Saint Mary's. The Gaels return to action Friday at Santa Clara, while Gonzaga will complete its Los Angeles swing Saturday at Loyola Marymount.
Yakhouba Diawara had 24 points for Pepperdine (13-12, 3-7), including consecutive 3-pointers in the final minute that pulled the Waves to 77-75 with 38 seconds left.
But Turiaf and Erroll Knight combined to hit five of six free throws in the final seconds for Gonzaga, while Pepperdine missed its last three attempts from the field.
Turiaf and Knight also posted double-doubles for the Bulldogs. Turiaf's 20 points and 12 rebounds marked his 21st career double-double, while Knight scored 14 points and grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds for his first career double-double.
Alex Acker added 19 points for Pepperdine.
Gonzaga, the conference's leading rebounding team, outrebounded Pepperdine 47-22. The plus-25 rebounding margin was a season-high for the Bulldogs, surpassing the 46-23 margin the Bulldogs had at San Diego. In the last five games the Bulldogs have out-rebounded opponents 215-123.
