No. 12 Gonzaga Wraps Up Regular Season With Win Over Northern Colorado

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Ronny Turiaf scored 22 points and No. 12 Gonzaga wrapped up its regular season by beating Northern Colorado 87-60 on Monday night for its 10th consecutive victory.
Gonzaga (23-4) went 13-0 in the new McCarthey Athletic Center this season, and has a 25-game home winning streak, second-longest in the nation to Oklahoma State's 28-game streak.
The Bulldogs, who won the West Coast Conference, next play in the semifinals of the league tournament on Sunday at Santa Clara.
Kirk Archibeque had 17 points for Northern Colorado (8-20), a Division I independent, which shot 33 percent, including 2-of-20 from 3-point range.
Batista scored eight points as Gonzaga took an 18-4 lead. The Bulldogs held a 31-9 lead with 7 minutes left in the first half, as the Bears made just two of their first 15 shots.
Gonzaga led 50-19 at halftime after shooting 63 percent. Northern Colorado was 5-of-25 (20 percent) and missed all 11 of its 3-point attempts in the half.
It didn't get much better in the second half, although the Bears managed to keep pace with Gonzaga.
The Bears missed their first 18 3-point attempts before Sean Taibi made one with 5:34 left. Taibi added a second 3-pointer on their next possession, by which time they trailed 75-48.
Gonzaga made 55 percent of its shots and outrebounded the Bears 38-29. Little-used but popular senior Brian Michaelson drew huge cheers from the crowd every time he touched the ball and finished with four points.
Turiaf's 22 points gave him 1,677 for his career, surpassing Blake Stepp (1,670) for fourth place on Gonzaga's scoring list.
