Gonzaga Drops To 9th In Coaches Poll

BRISTOL, Connecticut (Ticker) - The top six teams remained unchanged in the latest USA Today/ESPN coaches' poll released Monday.

Duke (12-0), the poll's only No. 1 team this season, received 30 first-place votes and 774 points overall.

Connecticut picked up the other first-place vote and is second with 731 points. Villanova (9-0) is third, followed by Memphis (11-1) and Florida (12-0).

The next five are Illinois (14-0), Michigan State (12-2), Louisville (11-1), Gonzaga (10-3) and Washington (11-1), which fell three spots following a home loss to Arizona.

Boston College (10-2) is 11th, followed by a pair of Atlantic Coast Conference teams sharing the 12th spot, Maryland (10-2) and North Carolina State (11-1). Oklahoma (8-2) is 14th and followed by Indiana (8-2).

Texas (10-2) is 16th, followed by UCLA (11-2), Ohio State (10-0), George Washington (8-1) and Pittsburgh (11-0).

The final five are Kentucky (9-3), Wake Forest (10-2), Arizona (9-3), Wisconsin (10-2) and North Carolina (7-2). Arizona was the only newcomer to the poll.

Nevada fell out of the rankings.
