Bulldogs Put Unblemished WCC Mark On Line Saturday
SPOKANE, WASH. - Saturday's West Coast Conference men's basketball game between Gonzaga University and Santa Clara University will be televised on KAYU-TV in Spokane.
Tipoff is 5 p.m. PDT at the McCarthey Athletic Center.
KHQ-TV has an NFL playoff game that conflicts with the Bulldogs-Broncos matchup that necessitates the change in channel. The game will also be seen on ROOT SPORTS with fans advised to check their local listing for Saturday's game.
KAYU-TV is Channel 3 on Spokane's Comcast cable and is Channel 28 on both DirecTV and Dish Network satellite providers.
The Bulldogs play their first three WCC games at home - albeit without students since they are gone on semester break - before heading to Saint Mary's College next Thursday and Loyola Marymount University the following Saturday.
Gonzaga ran its winning streak to a season-high seven games and improved their West Coast Conference mark to 2-0 with Thursday's 73-45 victory over Pepperdine University. It was the 21st straight victory for the Bulldogs over the Waves.
Santa Clara enters Saturday's game coming off their West Coast Conference opener Thursday, an 84-74 setback at the University of Portland. The Broncos are 8-6 overall and have lost two straight.
Freshman Gary Bell, Jr., scored a season-high 15 points to lead four Gonzaga players in double figures in Thursday's victory over Pepperdine. Bell had scored 14 points twice this season. Robert Sacre and Kevin Pangos each contributed 11 points and Elias Harris added 10 to pace the Zags, who have had four players in double figures in eight of 14 games this season.
Gonzaga head coach Mark Few was able to clear his bench early Thursday, with eleven of the 12 players seeing double-digit minutes and eleven of the 12 scoring.
