Calvary Named WCC Player of the Month

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Gonzaga University senior Casey Calvary was named the West Coast Conference men's basketball Player of the Month for December as announced by WCC commissioner Michael Gilleran.
The native of Tacoma, Wash., scored a career-high 29 points against the University of Washington, poured in 28 points at the University of Montana and had a 27-point night against the University of Idaho. In all, he had five games of 20 or more points through the first 10 games of the season. He also had seven games of 6 or more rebounds.
Calvary is currently averaging a WCC-leading 21.5 ppg to rank tied for 12th among the latest NCAA leaders. His 6.5 rpg lead the team.
Gonzaga, 8-5 overall, opens West Coast Conference play this weekend at the University of San Francisco on Friday and at Saint Mary's College on Saturday. Gonzaga makes its WCC home debut next Wednesday agaisnt the University of Portland.
