Zags Try To Rebound Saturday At Loyola Marymount
LOS ANGELES, Calif. - On the heels of an 83-62 loss at Saint Mary's College Thursday in a battle of West Coast Conference unbeatens, Saturday's contest at Loyola Marymount University takes on extra significance for the Bulldogs.
While the WCC season is still less than halfway over, three teams find themselves deadlocked for second place at 3-1 behind the 5-0 Gaels. Gonzaga, LMU and BYU all stand at 3-1, just one game ahead of 2-2 University of Portland which visits SMC Saturday. Gametime from Gersten Pavilion is 5 p.m. PDT.
Saturday's game will be seen on KHQ-TV in Spokane, but the Seattle market will once again have various viewing options. The game will be televised on KING-TV 5.2 and on DirecTV and DISH alternate channels. The game will be tape delayed on ROOT SPORTS at 9:30 p.m. Fans should check their local listings for the station and time in their area.
Gonzaga had a season-high 8-game winning streak snapped in the loss at Saint Mary's College.
Gonzaga leads the all-time series with Loyola Marymount University 53-23. The Bulldogs have won three straight and 32 of the last 35 meetings dating back to 1996. The last win for the Lions was a 74-66 verdict at Gersten Pavilion in 2010. The Zags swept both games last season, 79-59 in Spokane and 67-57 at LMU.
