Calvary Named WCC Men's Basketball Player of Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Gonzaga University senior Casey Calvary has been named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week for his role in the Bulldogs' sweep in Los Angeles last weekend.
Calvary scored 21 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in Friday's 93-79 victory at Pepperdine University in the battle for sole possession first place between WCC unbeatens, then poured in 19 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in an 84-64 win at Loyola Marymount University.
For the two games Calvary hit 16-of-20 shots from the field for 80.0 percent, 2-of-3 from 3-point range and 6-of-10 free throws. He averaged 20.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in the two wins.
Gonzaga is 16-5 overall, 8-0 in the WCC and is riding a 10-game winning streak. The Bulldogs will attempt to equal the school winning streak Friday when the University of San Francisco visits The Kennel for a 7:30 p.m. game to be aired on most FOX Sports Net affiliates on the West Coast, including Channel 34 on the AT&T Broadband cable system in Spokane. The Bulldogs host Saint Mary's College Sunday at 2 p.m. in a game to be carried by Omega Television that can be seen on all AT&T Broadband cable systems in the state of Montana, as well as on KSKN Channel 22 on the AT&T Broadband cable system in Spokane.
Friday's game will also be available on satellite on Telstar 5, Transponder 13.
