Spokane Cable Subscribers Can See Game

Feb. 15, 2002

SPOKANE, Wash. - Ken Watts, general manager of AT&T Broadband Cable in Spokane, Friday announced that all AT&T Broadband Cable subscribers in Spokane will be able to view Saturday's West Coast Conference basketball game between Gonzaga University and Pepperdine University on ESPN2.

The game will be televised to all cable subscribers on channel 10. ESPN2 is normally a part of AT&T Broadband's expanded package and is not available with the basic cable subscription.

"Since moving to Spokane I've been impressed with the university and the basketball program," Watts said. "This gives us a chance to bring the community the excitement of Gonzaga basketball. It's great for us to be a part of it. It's good for the community."

Gonzaga athletic director Mike Roth was delighted with the news.

"We are grateful to Ken and everyone at AT&T for allowing more people in Spokane to see the game," Roth said.

Game time is 7 p.m. Pepperdine (11-0) leads Gonzaga (10-1) in the chase for the WCC title. Saturday's game is the final home game of the season for the Bulldogs and is a sellout.
