SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Junior Kyle Wiltjer was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week for the second straight week and third time this year, league officials announced today.

Wiltjer had a monster week, putting up the second-highest single-game point total in the nation on Thursday and posting a double-double in a win at league No. 2 Saint Mary's on Saturday. First, at Pacific Wiltjer poured in 45 points including seven three-pointers and 15-for-22 overall shooting. He grabbed six rebounds and was also 8-for-9 from the free throw line. Wiltjer's 45 points marked the third-highest single-game total ever at Gonzaga and highest in 54 years.

Wiltjer followed that up with an encore performance in a 70-60 come-from-behind win at Saint Mary's. Down as many as 17 in the first half, Wiltjer scored 16 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and recorded two blocks to help GU erase the deficit. Down nine with only 6:20 on the clock, Wiltjer scored 11 of his 16 points the rest of the way, including six straight free throws to seal it.

For the week, he averaged 30.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game and made 19-of-32 (.594) field goals, including 9-of-14 treys (.643) and 14-of-17 free throws (.824).

Wiltjer’s third award gives Gonzaga a league-high six this season. Domantas Sabonis, Przemek Karnowski, and Kevin Pangos were each named league player of the week earlier in the year.

Gonzaga is back inside The Kennel for their last two regular season games, taking on San Diego at 8 p.m. on Thursday and BYU at 7 p.m. on Senior Night on Saturday. Both games will be televised on ESPN2.
