The seventh-ranked Gonzaga men will be seeded second in the tournament after losing a coin flip with Pepperdine to determine the top seed in the WCC tournament. Both teams finished with 13-1 WCC records to share a piece of the league championship. The regular-season title was the fourth in the last five years for the Bulldogs. Gonzaga will face seventh seeded Loyola Marymount in their opening round contest at noon on Saturday. The Lions won a coin flip with Portland to determine which school would be seeded seventh and eighth. Also winning a tie-breaking coin flip was Santa Clara which will now be seeded third while flip loser San Francisco will be seeded fourth.
Gonzaga's women, seeded eighth in the tournament, will play regular season champion Pepperdine in the first game on Thursday afternoon. The game will tip-off at noon. Gonzaga finished the regular-season with a 11-17 record, 2-12 in the WCC.
In both the men's and women's brackets teams will be re-seeded following the first day of tournament action allowing for the top seed to always play the lowest remaining seed in the field.
