Stepp, Violette, Turiaf Earn NABC All-District 14 Accolades

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University junior guard Blake Stepp has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) District 14 first team, while teammates Cory Violette and Ronny Turiaf garnered second-team recognition in a vote of the NABC membership.
Stepp, a native of Eugene, Ore., leads the 20-7 Bulldogs in scoring at 18.1 ppg and leads the West Coast Conference in league action at 21.7 ppg. He's shooting 44.1 percent from the field (146-for-331), 42.3 percent from 3-point range (83-for-196) and 82.7 percent from the free throw line (115-for-139). He scored a career-high 34 points this season at Washington State University, and set a Gonzaga single-game record with his 16 assists against Long Beach State. He leads the WCC in assists at 6.1/game.
Turiaf, a sophomore from Le Robert, Martinique, is second on the team in scoring at 15.7 ppg and has come off the bench for a majority of the season, starting the last four Bulldog games and five for the season. He's also averaging 6.1 rpg for second on the squad. Turiaf recorded career highs of 29 points and 14 rebounds at home against the University of Portland earlier this month.
Violette, a junior from Boise, Idaho, is averaging 11.7 ppg and a team-high 8.1 rpg. He has 19 career double-doubles, including eight this season. He's grabbed 15 rebounds twice this season. He was a John R. Wooden Award Pre-Season Top 50 nominee.
