Elias Harris Selected WCC Basketball Player Of Week
SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Gonzaga University junior Elias Harris has been named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week for his role in leading the Bulldogs to a top-two finish in the WCC regular-season standings for a 15th straight season.
In critical wins over BYU and at the University of San Diego, Harris averaged 13.0 points and 14.0 rebounds per game. In the victory over BYU, which snapped a second-place tied between the Zags and Cougars, Harris scored 19 points and grabbed a career-high equaling 16 rebounds for his fourth double-double in the last five games. It was his 10th double-double of the season and the 19th of his career. The native of Speyer, Germany, went 4-for-6 from the field, 1-2 from 3-point range and 10-12 from the line against BYU.
In Saturday's WCC regular-season finale he scored 7 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, his 11th double-digit rebounding game of the season, as the Bulldogs concluded a 13-3 conference slate with a 65-57 win over the Toreros.
