Drew Barham Named To WCC Men's Basketball All-Academic Team
SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Gonzaga University’s Drew Barham has been named to the West Coast Conference Men's Basketball All-Academic Team.
Barham, a graduate student from Memphis, Tenn., has a 3.77 grade-point-average in organizational leadership. He received his undergraduate degree in sport and leisure management in three years at the University of Memphis, transferring to Gonzaga last season and being immediately eligible for his final two years. He was named to the Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll and was a two-time recipient of the Conference USA Academic Medal in 2010 and 2011 while at Memphis.
He has played in all 30 games for the Bulldogs this season with six starts. He is averaging 6.6 ppg and 3.1 rpg. Barham is shooting 49.3 percent from the field and 48.2 percent from 3-point range. He set a career-high with 17 points against Washington State University and matched that with Thursday’s WCC title-clinching win at the University of the Pacific.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to his or her team.
