Four Bulldogs Earn WCC Basketball All-Academic Honors

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Four Gonzaga University Bulldogs - two men and two women - were named to the West Coast Conference men's and women's basketball All-Academic Team announced today at the WCC Tournament here.

Junior Dan Dickau (3.32 grade point average in broadcast studies), freshman Blake Stepp (3.49, sports management), junior Jessica Malone (3.22, political science) and sophomore Celeste Quitiquit (3.81, biology) were the Bulldogs honored.

All four are first-time selections.

Also named to the women's team were junior Becki Ashbaugh (Santa Clara University, 3.64, management systems), senior Amanda Bishop (University of San Diego, 3.46, electrical engineering), senior Annie Garrison (SCU, 3.75, math/computer science), junior Melissa Glazebrook (USD, 3.64, electrical engineering), junior Caroline Gruening (SCU, 3.77, combined sciences), senior Jamie Lucia (USD, 3.54, chemistry), sophomore Kate Murray (Loyola MArymount University, 3.84, business) and senior Kim Sorenson (SCU, 3.40, marketing).

Joining Dickau and Stepp on the men's team were graduate student James Borrego (USD, 4.00, education leadership), sophomore Matt Delzell (USD, 3.38, business), junior Justin Holbrook (SCU, 3.37, communications), senior Anthony Jones (Saint Mary's College, 3.47, English), senior Pablo Machado (LMU, 3.27, liberal arts), senior Cameron Rigby (USD, 3.20, business) and junior Marcus Smith (LMU, 3.25, liberal arts).
