Bulldogs NCAA Caravan Off To Salt Lake City

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University will mee the University of Cincinnati on Thursday in the first round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament at the Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The Bulldogs will be facing the Bearcats in a re-match of the 1999 Rock-N-Roll Shootout in Cleveland, Ohio, a game won by the Bearcats 75-68. Cincinnati was ranked No. 1 in the country at the time and were led by College Player of the Year Kenyon Martin, who was also the top pick in the 2000 NBA draft.
Gonzaga, making its fifth straight NCAA appearance and sixth since 1995, will also be returning to the site of its inaugural NCAA Tournament appearance in 1995. Gonzaga, the No. 14 seed and West Coast Conference Tournament champion, lost to third seed University of Maryland 87-63.
